Get your brooms ready… we are taking it outside! Or in our case… keeping it outside!
Hayward Curling Club is putting on our first bonspiel, the inaugural Timberspiel on the iconic Chippewa Flowage, hosted by our friends at Deerfoot Lodge and Resort. Enjoy some great food and beverage (and a warm space!) between games. There is nothing quite like curling on natural lake ice, just like the Scottish curlers of past centuries.
Space is extremely limited, so grab your team and sign up fast!
6 team limit, 3 games played. Cost per team: $160. Breakfast included. Lunch and beverages can be purchased at Deerfoot Lodge all day long.

Scoring
The bonspiel consists of a points-based championship for the winner’s trophy. Every stone matters!
Win = 10 Points
Tie = 5 Points
Ends Won = 1 Point per end
Stones Scored = 0.1 Point per Stone Scored.
Example: Team 1 wins a game, wins 4 ends, scores 8 stones = 14.8
Cancellation Policy
Cold or snow won’t stop us in Hayward! However, if the ice conditions are unplayable due to warm temperatures or unexpected ice damage, we will notify teams no later than Friday, March 6th, and provide refunds to registered and paid teams.
